The Enterprising Student Society Accreditation (ESSA) promotes, recognises and rewards the enterprising activity of students within UK university societies & clubs.
Running a society is like running a small business; the society manages funds, recruits members and holds events.
Through accreditation and awards, the ESSA is the stamp of approval for university students and is the largest national student and accreditation scheme and awards in the UK and is open to all societies.
The ESSA was set up in 2011 by Fig.
The ESSA is currently taking a break as we carry out a European Commission research project to see how the accreditation can be expanded across Europe.
The programme is due to re-launch in the UK in 2017.
